DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF THE SHOULDER GIRDLE AND SUPERFICIAL BACK
Ben Kivlan, one of the most dynamic physical therapy professors in the country, will be conducting a 1.5-hour webinar on Thursday August 13 from noon-1:30 Eastern time on differential diagnosis of the shoulder girdle and superficial back . (A webinar recording will be sent to anyone who cannot attend at this time.)
Ben will explain how anatomical relationships relate to patient symptoms, referred pain patterns, clinical examination findings, appropriate therapeutic interventions, and differential diagnosis of common conditions and pathologies managed by physical therapists. This webinar will also focus on applying this anatomical knowledge to the differential diagnosis for evaluating patients without a referral. Participants will be asked to identify key neurovascular and musculoskeletal structures and apply findings to clinical scenarios.

SPEAKER: Benjamin R. Kivlan, PhD, PT, SCS, OCS, CSCS. Ben is a graduate of Elon College’s Exercise/Sport Science Program, the University of Pittsburgh’s Physical Therapy Program, and completed his PhD studies in Rehabilitation Science at Duquesne University. Ben serves on the faculty of the Physical Therapy Department at Duquesne University as an instructor of Human Anatomy. Ben has published research and continues to pursue research interests in the study of musculoskeletal anatomy, functional performance testing, and post-operative rehabilitation and outcomes. Ben is also recognized as a Board Certified Specialist in Sports and Orthopedic Physical and enjoys treating patients with various sports and orthopedic injuries.
