Understanding and managing generational diversity in the workplace has always been an area of interest in ensuring a highly effective, efficient, and enjoyable work environment. Year after year, those that find themselves in the older generations tend to struggle with the younger, more independent, and apparently fewer flexible coworkers. Although we may present with differences in work ethic, communication styles, motivation, how we see authority, use of technology, work-life balance needs, rewards, learning, mentorship, and long-term plans, it is important to recognize that the core reason for becoming a therapist is the same across generations: patient care. Therefore, having a meaningful, productive, team-oriented work environment is key to ensuring safe and quality care for patients. This webinar will provide leaders with practical information for managing Millennials’ expectations and an intergenerational work environment. It will review the behavioral interview process for a better selection process, cover communication, work schedule design, and organizational strategy for a more effective team design and management.
